Last summer (2008) I learned the sad news that my uncle, Jon Schlosser, had passed away. One sliver lining from my trip to New Mexico for his funeral was the opportunity to re-connect with my cousins, Claire and Steven.

Steven mentioned that he had been working on turning the old film home movies my Grammy (Schlosser) used to show when I was a kind into digital form. We discussed the difficulty of getting everything on line, with the limitations youtube has and the high cost of other options, given the large file sizes.

I offered to find a solution, and though it took me quite a while I finally found it: wordpress.com Matt has done it again, contributing an amazing resource to the web for next to nothing. I was able to get 15GB of storage for only $50/year. I actually stumbled onto this solution based on a comment Matt made on his blog.
