Note to readers not in Austin:  Austin Java is a wonderful restaurant (which also has great coffee, as you might guess).

Dear Austin Java,

Long time eater, first time blogger.  My wife and I have been enjoying your fine food for many years, but I recently attempted to quickly access your menu at www.austinjava.com before placing a to-go order.  Unfortunately, it was stuck inside a PDF which is a very web-unfriendly format.  Adobe Acrobat is a pig, for one thing, slowing your PC to a crawl and pushing toolbars on you etc.

Since a lot of companies seem to fall into this trap, I thought I’d offer a quick and easy suggestion:  www.scribd.com

You can very easily upload any document (word doc, PDF) and embed the Scribd reader into your site.  To demonstrate, I downloaded your menu and then uploaded it to scribd in about 30 seconds.

Now people can easily see that you make an amazing turkey sandwich complete with cranberry sauce year round, and if they take my advice they’ll pair it with the equally delicious Spicy African Peanut Soup.
